John P. Ancona, M.D.
Originally from New York, Dr.
Ancona received his B.S. from
Cornell University in 1992. He
graduated AOA from Tufts
University School of Medicine in
J 996. After completing
residency at the Naval Medical
Center, Dr. Ancona spent 2
years as a staff pediatrician at
the Naval Ambulatory Center in
Groton, CT. Dr. Ancona joined
Gales Ferry Pediatrics in 2003.
Gales Ferry Pediatric Group has been providing care for the children of southeastern Connecticut since 1974.

Eight pediatricians provide care at two office sites. Our physicians are certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and are fellows of the American
Academy of Pediatrics. They are staff members at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London, Connecticut.

David Rinzler, M.D.
A New Jersey native, Dr. Rinzler is
a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of
Rutgers University. He received
his B.A. in 1967, and then earned
his M.D. from Yale University.
Upon completing residency
training at the University of
Michigan in 1974, he served as a
Major in the U.S. Army for 2 years.
He joined Gales Ferry Pediatrics
in 1976.
Charles R. Esposito, M.D.
Raised in New Jersey, Dr.
Esposito graduated from Tufts
University with a B.S. in 1973.
He went on to receive his M.D. at
New Jersey Medical School in
1978. He joined Gales Ferry
Pediatrics in 1981, after
finishing residency at North
Carolina Baptist Hospital.
Steven H. Forstein, M.D.
Originally from New York, Dr.
Forstein completed his B.A. at
Weslyan University in 1973. He
earned his M.D. at the Medical
College of Virginia in 1979. After
residency training at the University
of Connecticut, Dr. Forstein spent
18 months as a staff pediatrician
in American Samoa. He joined
Gales Ferry Pediatrics in 1984.
Phyllis A. Holtzman, M.D.
Another New Yorker, Dr. Holtzman is
a Phi Beta Kappa member,
graduating summa cum laude from
the University of Pennsylvania in
1979. She received her M.D. from
Mount Sinai School of Medicine in
1983, then went on to complete her
residency and pediatric endocrinology
fellowship at the Mount Sinai Medical
Center. She has been with Gales
Ferry Pediatrics since 1988.
Mark A. Rosenthal, M.D.
Raised in New York, Dr. Rosenthal
attended Cornell University,
graduating with a B.S. in 1991. He
went on to receive an M.D. at the
University of Rochester School of
Medicine and Dentistry in 1995.
After completing his residency at
Geisinger Medical Center, he
spent a year working in
Massachusetts. Dr. Rosenthal
joined Gales Ferry Pediatrics in
1999.
Michelle N. Watson, M.D.
Hailing from Ohio, Dr. Watson
received her B.A. from Wittenberg
University. She is a Phi Beta Kappa
member and graduated summa cum
laude in 1992. She went on to The
Ohio State University College of
Medicine, completing her M.D. in
1996. Dr. Watson completed her
residency training at Wright State
University. She joined Pediatrics
Associates of Dayton
in 1999. Dr. Watson moved to
Connecticut and joined Gales Ferry
Pediatrics in 2000.
Jennifer R. Lovin, M.D.
Dr. Lovin was raised in
southeastern Connecticut. She
attended Worcester Polytechnic
Institute, graduating with High
Distinction in 1996. She received
her M.D. from the University of
Connecticut School of Medicine in
2000. Dr. Lovin completed
residency training at Baystate
Medical Center in 2003, joining
Gales Ferry Pediatrics the same
year.
Foong-Yi Lin, M.D.
